Long Standing Leather Goods & Tattoo Artist Moving to Downtown Urbana
Urbana Tomorrow recently announced the forthcoming opening of The Apocalyptic, owned by David Byas, at 121 Miami Street in downtown Urbana, Ohio. The new location hopes to open by June of 2025.
According to Byas, the store will offer a selection of locally made leather goods, handcrafted uniquities, and provide high quality, custom tattoo artistry. Byas has accumulated decades of experience in his respective crafts and is excited to join the thriving community of Urbana businesses.
“There’s a lot of positive, private investment happening in downtown Urbana and we believe it is important to keep that momentum going,” Justin T. Weller, founder of Urbana Tomorrow, shared. “We decided to actively engage in finding potential tenants to further enhance the atmosphere of downtown and offer something new.”
The new store’s location at 121 Miami Street is immediately next to Mike Major’s Art Studio and across the street from Eatly, and Italian bistro. The building was previously home to CoverLink Insurance, which outgrew the space and moved to another building nearby. The team at Urbana Tomorrow says that bringing more retail to Miami street to compliment the great places to eat and drink is an essential task.
Urbana Tomorrow owns and as redeveloped several properties in Champaign County. Most notably, 40 Monument Square (commonly referred to as the big blue building), Bodey Circle, and the Endowment Building, among others.
“We look forward to opening of this new store and are going to continue to find ways to add to the add to our community in Urbana and Champaign County,” Weller concluded.
